It is the beginning of a new season on Ocracoke Island. Our quaint little village is becoming increasingly more popular with visitors, vacationers, and day-trippers. Our Berkley season officially kicked off a couple weeks ago with a vacation rental at the Manor that celebrated an intimate wedding ceremony. It is going to be a great season ahead!
Two Ocracoke residents, Yulia and Jon, joined us at the Berkley Manor as some of our first guests for the year the weekend of March 27. The two landed on the island after Hurricane Dorian to help in the reconstruction efforts and have remained residents ever since. What can we say, Ocracoke is a unique place. Yulia reached out to us towards the end of last year’s peak season and inquired about being married at the Berkley, with March tentatively chosen as the special timeframe. As most Ocracoke admirers know, the weather in March can fluctuate in drastic ways, offering the prettiest spring days or the coldest, wettest winter days. Yulia and Jon appreciated the quiet and remoteness of the island during this particular time of year and chose to rent the Manor for the weekend with immediate family. The day of their wedding turned out to be beautiful. It was slightly chilly but beautiful sunshine sparkled down on their wedding day. Rain buckets fell that evening but offered the perfect pitter patter harmony on the roof while cutting cake and soaking in family time. We could not be more happy for Yulia and Jon and are cheerful to begin a new wedding season with them at the front. Intimate weddings have become increasingly more popular due to COVID, and there is no better place to celebrate than Ocracoke Island.
It is a gorgeous time of year to visit Ocracoke. Businesses are open, the weather is warm and sunny, and the island is not as crowded as peak season. It is a wonderful time to take a family vacation or hold a destination wedding. If our team can help you with a reservation, please contact our office.
