Welcome to the Berkley! We are live and back in action with a new (physical) look and a brand-new web site! We are very excited to be sharing these new updates with our guests and clients.
As you may have noticed, the Berkley Estate has a whole new appearance. With the increase in weddings and private events, we decided to add two new facilities to the property – the Berkley Barn and Berkley Suites. Prior to the addition of the Berkley Barn, there were few spaces on Ocracoke where wedding couples and party goers could celebrate their special occasion without running into issues such as weather or cramped spaces. We decided to fix that. Ta da…. the need for the Berkley Barn. The Berkley Barn is a 3,000 square-foot event pavilion that can hold up to 200 guests. With a tongue and groove wood floor, high arching ceilings, a solid back wall, and the front and sides which can be completely opened to a sprawling deck for nice days, there really is no better place to hold your Ocracoke wedding or event. Since its addition to the property in 2018, it has been extremely popular for weddings, private events, and local festivals. Give us a shout out for pictures from past events. You’ll see why it has become so popular.
At the same the time the Barn was being constructed on the Berkley Estate, we added a second guest house known as the Berkley Suites. Just like the Manor and Barn, it has become increasingly popular for wedding party groups and vacation rentals. The house itself is set up as three separate suites. Each suite contains two bedrooms with a shared bathroom (jack-and-jill style), making a total of 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms to complete the house along with the guest-friendly kitchen and living area. The interior resembles a beach-house feel with bright colors and a clean look. The Suites works wonderfully for wedding groups and has been used to house either wedding party members or families of the bride or groom. It also works really well for large group rentals for families who want to vacation together on Ocracoke. The house is in close proximity to Ocracoke shops and restaurants and just a stone’s throw from Silver Lake and the sound-side ferry terminal. With the Berkley Manor, Berkley Barn, and Berkley Suites now completing the Berkley Estate, we have been busy celebrating lots of momentous occasions. Whether you are a returning visitor or thinking of visiting Ocracoke for the very first time, please join us. There is usually a local festival taking place in the barn once a month with live music, great food, and fun memories to be made. Or, plan your destination wedding on Ocracoke Island. It’s a vacation destination for the whole family and a true experience that will be unlike any other.
With a brand-new Berkley appearance, of course we had to create a new web site. What do you think? We hope the new bright, bubbly photo centric look creates happy and excited vibes. We find that couples are attracted to looking through photos from past events for examples and inspiration. The new site shares mostly wedding photos and a few rocking events that have taken place since the new buildings have been added.
