Wow, it has been a busy spring at the Berkley Manor! Since mid-February our team has been in full-on preparation mode. We anticipate this season to be one of the busiest with people feeling comfortable to travel again and having cabin-fever from COVID-19 restrictions. We look forward to hosting a complete season of weddings, special events, vacation rentals and retreats.
Preparation work has been mostly directed towards the Berkley Manor and the Berkley grounds. Before the start of visitors’ arrivals, we have been working through our project list. Shampooed carpets, fresh paint, repair tickets, fresh linens and restocked kitchen items are just a few of our recently completed projects list. We hope our wedding couples and guests will be able to relax and unwind in the comfort of this space with their loved ones. With COVID-19 restrictions becoming less strict, most Ocracoke businesses will be open for the season, eager to see new faces.
The Berkley grounds are also receiving a little TLC this late winter/early spring. We have had a crew from Wilmington assisting us with our efforts and they have done a fantastic job sprucing up our 2.5 acres. Our live oak trees have been trimmed, the property edges have been cleaned, and the flower boxes have been planted. Our vacation guests are able to enjoy and make the most of the space by spending family time together on the lawn playing yard games or sitting on one of the porches with a glass of tea and watching the sunset. Our beautified space enables families to make memories while visiting Ocracoke Island.
