Happy Easter y’all! This Sunday we are grateful for the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. Together, we are celebrating and remembering God’s unconditional love for us. To all of our friends near and far, we hope you, too, are enjoying time with those you love.
For this week’s blog, we thought it would be appropriate to focus our thoughts on an important member of the wedding ceremony – a ceremonial officiant. Here on Ocracoke, there are multiple options to choose from as far as incorporating a spiritual element with your wedding, including a church or on the grounds of the Berkley. To begin, there are two churches on the island, and both ministers serve in a meaningful role with ceremonies. The island is privileged to be home to Ocracoke Assembly of God with Pastor Ivey Belch and Ocracoke United Methodist with Minister Richard Bryant. Both are happy to coordinate with wedding parties to oversee ceremonies both at the churches and on the grounds of the Berkley. If less traditional is your preference, we also recommend Nancy Leach of Ocracoke Occasions to administer your wedding. She has officiated many weddings and always bestows a delightful, heart-felt nature. All three parties are wonderful to work with and can coordinate with parties of all sizes. Of course, we are happy to assist you in your wedding planning process and welcome any other wedding officiants.
