We have been fortunate to host another beautiful wedding at the Berkley property June 26th. Lacy and Bryan were our wonderful bride and groom for this destination wedding. We feel so fortunate to have been part of their special day.
It is always heart-warming to see wedding plans come to fruition, especially when they are for super sweet couples. Lacy and Bryan have been a delight to work with throughout the planning process. Residing not too far away in Virginia, Ocracoke has been a favorite place for the couple to vacation. Lacy’s vision for their wedding included a picturesque beach ceremony. After all, how many wedding couples can share that they tied the knot at one of the top ten beaches in America as rated by Dr. Beach?! Lacy and Bryan can mention this fun fact in their wedding story. The couple was joined by 75 of their closest family and friends. The evening continued with a reception held in the Berkley Barn. The Back Porch prepared a BBQ buffet featuring homemade BBQ, mac and cheese, cole slaw, green beans, pesto orzo, and salad. Dinner was accompanied by a classic strawberry cake with buttercream frosting prepared by Ocracoke’s Sweet Tooth. Dinner and dessert were enjoyed by all. DJ Tommy Hutcherson kept the guests entertained with popular ballads, lights, and continuous dancing and emceeing. The crowd, including guests of all ages, knew how to throw down on the dance floor and kept the party going. As always, it is sad when the event comes to an end. We had a great time celebrating Lacy and Bryan and it was an honor to be their wedding venue for the magical day.
Ocracoke weddings have become increasingly more popular. Whether it is an intimate wedding ceremony followed by a private dinner or a grand, very detailed event, Berkley Events has the capabilities to host a wide range of events. We will be taking a respite from destination weddings for the remainder of peak season but will resume as we transition to shoulder season. Looking forward to more celebrations to come!
