Spring has sprung at the Berkley Manor. We celebrated our first official wedding of the 2021 season this past weekend. Courtney and Randy tied the knot on May 1. Congratulations!
Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day to hold a destination wedding on Ocracoke Island. Spring weddings are a popular time of year for weddings on Ocracoke. Perfect weather, comfortable temperatures, and a minimal threat of storms or hurricanes make it an ideal time to wed. Courtney and Randy could not have asked for a more perfect day to toast as wife and husband. The two exchanged “I Do’s” before family and friends at Lifeguard Beach. Pastor Ivey Belch, the pastor at the Ocracoke Assembly of God Church, officiated the service. Following the afternoon ceremony, family and friends made their way back to the Berkley Barn for a beautiful evening of dinner, toasts, cake, and dancing. Dajio Restaurant provided catering and bar services for the evening. The menu featured crab cakes and bacon-wrapped scallops as appetizers followed by family-style servings of balsamic glazed asparagus, fresh fried fish, grilled chicken, pork, and roasted potatoes. Sara Clark who is a local business owner prepared a beautiful wedding cake that everyone absolutely enjoyed. A grand evening was had by all with lots of cheers, toasts, and dancing taking place. Courtney and Randy had a local band from home perform music for the evening, and they did a fantastic job. Island locals and visitors drove past the Berkley estate and paused for a few minutes to enjoy the acoustic sounds. It was the perfect wedding to begin the start of a new season.
It was an honor for Berkley Events to be the venue for Courtney and Randy’s wedding day. Their group of family and friends were so wonderful and great to be around. It is sad that this special event is over, but we look forward to the next weddings coming down the line. If we can help you in the future with a wedding or special event, give our office a shout.
