Berkley Facilities

The Berkley Estate encompasses two and a half acres and is home to three beautiful facilities – the Berkley Manor, Berkley Suites, and Berkley Barn.

Whether you are planning a vacation rental or wedding, all three may be rented individually or together in a bundled package. Located a stone’s throw from the Swan Quarter and Cedar Island ferry terminal, the property is in easy access to Silver Lake harbor and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and activities. If you are planning beach time with your trip, you are able to bike to the beach along Highway 12 or just a five-minute car drive away. The Berkley’s location and comfortable accommodations provide renters the perfect Ocracoke Island getaway.

The historic Berkley Manor is the only surviving original Berkley building.

Encompassing over 7500 square feet, it is reminiscing of a 1950’s era elegant, yet rustic lodge. Built with all hardwood floors, cyprus wood walls and ceilings, and cedar shakes on the exterior, it is a stunningly beautiful centerpiece to the estate. The house provides comfortable accommodations as well as addresses the needs of large groups by offering four fireplaces, six bedrooms, five and a half baths, a lounge room complete with beautiful furniture, fully-equipped guest kitchen, dining room with seating for up to forty, and a widow’s peak with the best sunset views on Ocracoke.

The newest lodging accommodations on Ocracoke, the Berkley Suites, is located adjacent to the Berkley Manor and features a look and feel much the same as the Manor.

Encompassing 3000 square feet it includes three, two-bedroom suites for a total of six bedrooms. Each suite is set up jack-and-jill style with the two bedrooms sharing a full bathroom. In addition, each suite contains a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. The house itself shares a common living area with large, HDTV, and fully-equipped kitchen and pantry. The Suites are set up well for large group rentals.

Constructed during the fall and winter of 2017, the Berkley Barn is Ocracoke’s only outdoor event pavilion.

This 3000-square foot facility is able to accommodate up to 200 guests and features a tongue and groove wood floor, high arching ceilings, a solid back wall, and sliding front and side doors which can be completely opened to a sprawling deck for nice days. The Barn is not climate controlled but has industrial-grade fans for warm-season events and two large, real working fireplaces for winter events. With any barn rental, guests are able to customize the look and feel inside through decorations and lights. Since its completed construction, the Barn has become an increasingly popular venue for weddings, parties, local events and festivals, and retreats.
